Second Opinion

Today we met with an oncologist at Abington for a second opinion. They recommended the same chemo treatment regimen that we are already planning, so that was good to hear. They answered questions and gave us an example of a success story that helped confirm the promise of this initial treatment.

Some other preliminaries are being done to help set the baseline for evaluating progress, including a chest x-ray today and a CT Scan on Wed. Sherri’s sister Sue is here for a couple of days to help with getting through all these appointments! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers that are helping us get through the week – we are feeling positive about this course of action.

  1. Dave and Sherri,
I am praying for you with all my heart. A flood of memories of my childhood friend keep flooding me and making me feel defensive that my friend is hurt and I can’t do anything about it. I will continue to ask The Lord to comfort you and give you peace.
Otherwise, I am going to get the “Gredbel Gripper 2158” and ride it all over the cancers ass!

  2. Dear Dave and Sherri,

I’m so sorry to hear about this new challenge. You’ll be in my daily prayers. Thank you for keeping us updated. With Much Love, Jana

  3. “What Cancer Cannot Do”

    Cancer is so limited…
    It cannot cripple love
    It cannot shatter hope
    It cannot corrode faith
    It cannot destroy peace
    It cannot kill friendship
    It cannot suppress memories
    It cannot silence courage
    It cannot invade the soul
    It cannot steal eternal life
    It cannot conquer the spirit”

We thought this was inspirational, hope you do too. With you all the way! Love you always

  4. Thanks for setting up this blog. It is a wonderful idea. Know that we love you all and hold you up in our prayers every day. I have a cousin on my mother’s side that went through chemo and stem-cell therapy for a very aggressive, later stage cancer this past year and has now received a very positive result and prognosis. It was extremely tough, but he is a fighter. I know you will be too. God bless. Warren and Aneeta

  6. There is a firestorm of love and positive, healing energy rising from your friends and family in the Washington Society! It is hard to be so far away from you, but you are all in my thoughts and near my heart constantly. And in my mind, I’m giving hugs to you all! Get better soon so we can go camping. xoxo ~ sharon & all the boys
